Kiké Hernández appears unlikely to be making a return trip to the White House with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers are expected to visit President Donald Trump later this month during an off-day to celebrate their 2025 World Series championship. But after a fan commented on one of Hernández’s social media posts asking him not to go, the veteran utilityman replied, “I’m not,” according to a screenshot of the exchange.
The comment has since been deleted, but it immediately stood out because Hernández was part of the Dodgers’ White House visit last year after their 2024 title.
Hernández later described that experience during an April 2025 interview with Cultura Sports, making it clear the day was more about celebrating with teammates than anything else, but also making the whole experience sound painfully boring.
“We went to the White House that morning,” Hernández said at the time. “They had us sit in a room for about three hours. Then they told us to stand up and get in line. We waited for a couple more hours. And then they took us to the stage. The guy gave his speech, and we left.”
When asked if he had spoken with the president, Hernández said he had not.
“I didn’t talk to him, but I wasn’t really interested in talking to him anyway,” he said.
Hernández also explained that each player made his own decision, and that he went because he wanted to avoid upsetting people and turning the choice into a season-long conversation.
That context makes his latest comment feel less like a grand statement and more like Kiké being Kiké.
For years, Hernández has been one of the Dodgers’ most beloved personalities because he rarely moves like anyone else. He has delivered massive postseason moments, twerked in the dugout, brought his oddball clubhouse energy and talked openly about the very non-glamourous parts of being a professional baseball player.
He has always marched to his own beat.
That fan-favorite status has endured even through an injury-interrupted 2026 season. Hernández has appeared in only two games while recovering from an offseason elbow procedure and an oblique injury, but his presence still carries weight in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers may be headed back to the White House.
Hernández, at least for now, will not be joining them.
