Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag and opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi slammed stunning sixes off Gujarat Titans (GT) premier spinner Rashid Khan in IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 on Friday, May 29. Parag began the over with a four and a six before taking a single on the third delivery. Suryavanshi then hit the leg-spinner for the second six over of the over, which yielded 18 runs.
Rashid bowled a short delivery on the second ball of the ninth over of RR’s innings. Parag launched it over deep mid-wicket for a maximum. The Afghanistan bowler bowled a similar length, and Suryavanshi swivelled across and then pulled it over deep backward square leg for a six.

GT vs RR IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 is evenly poised
A clinical bowling display from GT and a fighting knock from RR opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi have kept the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 hanging in balance.
Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel to give the team a stunning start before Ravindra Jadeja steadied the ship for the Royals. The senior all-rounder scored 34 runs off 19 balls before getting retired hurt. Skipper Parag showed some intent before falling prey to Jason Holder for 11 runs off six deliveries.
At the time of writing, RR were 108/3 after 10.4 overs, with Suryavanshi (47* off 26) and Dasun Shanaka (3* off 6) at the crease.
The winning team of this contest will lock horns with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2026 final. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the summit clash on Sunday, May 31.
The Riyan Parag-led side is coming after a 47-run win over SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Eliminator. Earlier, the Shubman Gill and company lost to RCB by 92 runs in a one-sided contest. They finished in the top two spots in the IPL 2026 points table. As a result, they got another chance of reaching the final. All three teams – RR, GT, and RCB – are in search of their second IPL trophy.
