Dive Brief:

  • Nutrabolt named Andrew Archambault, who unexpectedly stepped down as U.S. president at Hershey in April, to take over as president and chief operating officer at the energy drink and sports nutrition company.
  • Archambault will oversee Nutrabolt’s commercial and operational functions, including sales, supply chain and international operations. Nutrabolt’s portfolio includes Xtend hydration and recovery powders, energy drink C4 and a stake in supplement and beverage brand Bloom Nutrition.
  • Archambault brings more than 30 years of consumer-packaged goods leadership experience. Before Hershey, he was president of Keurig Dr Pepper’s U.S. Beverage Unit.

Dive Insight:

Archambault joins Nutrabolt as the company expands its presence in the performance energy category and grows share across energy and modern soda. The company has also invested in emerging brands within active nutrition, including $210 million in Bloom Nutrition.

Nutrabolt said his appointment “advances the company’s ability to execute with greater operational discipline, speed, and commercial focus.” Archambault will oversee Nutrabolt’s commercial and operational functions, including sales, supply chain and international operations.

“Andrew is a transformational leader with deep experience driving growth at scale,” Doss Cunningham, Nutrabolt’s CEO, said in a statement. “His track record leading complex commercial organizations across some of the most respected companies in the industry, combined with his ability to translate strategy into execution, makes him uniquely suited to help us accelerate our next phase of growth.”

While Nutrabolt didn’t mention Keurig Dr Pepper specifically in announcing Archambault’s arrival, it’s hard not to see the connection between the trio.

Keurig Dr Pepper took a 30% stake in Nutrabolt in 2022 and, since then, the beverage giant has helped expand Nutrabolt’s health and wellness portfolio into new categories and usage occasions. Keurig Dr Pepper is also a fellow backer of Bloom and inked a sales and distribution agreement with the brand.

Archambault is no stranger to beverages and is familiar with many of the brands Nutrabolt oversees after his previous stint at the 7Up and Canada Dry maker. This will prove vital as he aims to grow and innovate Nutrabolt’s better-for-you offerings.

In September, Nutrabolt said it was on pace to exceed $1 billion in annual revenue on a consolidated basis and that the company is “intensifying its focus on expanding market impact.”
