WHAT: Board of Education meetings June 16 and 29

PRESENT: Shawn Chrystal, Diana DeVito, David Malone and Kara Morgan

The board:

• Hired Brian Knight as a 9-12 principal for 260-day contract at $78,000;

• Hired Olivia Nuzzi as a kindergarten teacher, Amanda Staser as second-grade teacher, Kara Terlecki as K-6 art, and Nicolette Frkeic as high school math teacher, all at $34,825;

• Approved Amanda Clark as special education director on 215-day contract at $68,055 and Michael Palmer as student success administrator on 196-day contract at $82,914;

• Purchased four 72-passenger school buses through the Ohio School Council bid process;

• Approved an agreement with Jim Jones RYFP Education Consulting at $2,500 per month to provide an online cyber school (Leopard Cyber Academy) for three months from Aug. 1 to Nov. 4;

• Approved field trip using Liberty buses from Jewish Community Center to Dash and Splash on Aug. 21 with two buses needed. Buses will shuttle from JCC to Logan Swim Club for a 5K walk and run;

• Approved a technology disaster recovery plan in the event of an extended loss of computer resources or computer failure in the treasurer’s office;

• Approved an agreement with John Sipusic for education management information system (EMIS) through June 30, 2023 at $34 per hour;
