A Massachusetts hospital can remove from life support a comatose patient declared brain dead by multiple doctors using accepted medical criteria, a federal court in the state said.
The doctors’ declaration met Boston Medical Center’s criteria for brain death, and no one at the facility observed signs of life allegedly seen by the patient’s mother, the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said.
