Investigation continues into Columbiana death; son arrested for falsification | News, Sports, Jobs

COLUMBIANA — An arrest has been made in the ongoing investigation into a death on South Elm Street Thursday night.

Nathan A. Tataseo, 46, 230 S. Elm St., was arrested Monday, charged with falsification for knowingly making a false statement to detectives who were investigating the death of his father, James E. Tataseo, 76, also of the home. Circumstances of the death are of a “suspicious nature.”

Columbiana police responded to the home at 7:56 p.m. Thursday after receiving a call that James E. Tataseo was found deceased at his home. The Columbiana County Major Crime Task Force, county sheriff’s office, county prosecutor’s office and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations assisted in canvassing the area and processing the scene.

The death is still under investigation. No further information was being released Monday.
