Veteran wrestling manager Dutch Mantell recently spoke about Darby Allin defending the AEW World Championship against MJF. The two stars are scheduled to face off at Double or Nothing.
MJF was humiliated at the Spring BreakThru edition of Dynamite, where Allin defeated him in a couple of minutes and ended his World Championship reign. Since then, Big Hebrew has been looking to get back the title. The two stars are now scheduled to face off in a high-stakes Hair vs. Title match at the upcoming pay-per-view.
This week on Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the veteran manager detailed that a lot of fans were looking forward to see MJF losing his hair. He noted that AEW could actually pull the trigger on the stipulation if the pay-per-view does good buy rates. Mantell also pointed out that if Friedman ended up winning the encounter, many fans would feel cheated, and so AEW needed to be careful with booking the finish to the showdown.
“Now, the people, I think they will really look forward to seeing him bald, if he goes bald. But I think it’ll draw a house. I really do. This is a pay-per-view. I think it’ll do well. They have a hell of a match, but you’ve got to be careful with these finishes. Because everybody wants to see him bald. And if they book it to draw a house or get a good buy rate, they will. They’ll get a good buy rate off that. But, if he doesn’t lose the match, I think, you know, you have a certain element of the crowd that will feel cheated. So they’ve got to be very, very careful on that finish.”
MJF is confident of his chances at AEW Double or Nothing
In the build-up to Double or Nothing 2026, MJF has made it clear that he wants to become a three-time AEW World Champion. The star has been playing mind games on social media, targeting Darby Allin on several occasions.
Recently, The Salt of the Earth detailed that the show was sold out and fans were coming through the gates in numbers to see him crowned champion for a record third time.
He also claimed that he was not losing his hair and rather would continue his legacy as one of the greatest ever to compete inside the squared circle.
