Micah Parsons drops candid reaction to Packers announcing Thanksgiving game vs Rams in Los Angeles

by Ohio Digital News

Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers have varying levels of experience on Thanksgiving. While the Packers have played on the holiday before, Parsons was essentially guaranteed to play on the holiday when he was with the Dallas Cowboys. Now, it appears he will be tasked with taking part in the holiday’s festivities, but also have Thanksgiving off.

Parsons and the Packers are set to face the Los Angeles Rams one day before Thanksgiving, according to a post by Adam Schefter on X on Wednesday. The Packers pass rusher reacted to the news with a handful of emojis.

Thanks for the submission!

“🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥,” he posted.

Put simply, Parsons looks ready to get on the field and also get Thanksgiving off, with the contest set to take place on the Wednesday before the holiday. Not only that, but with the game seemingly set to take place in Green Bay, Parsons will be able to wake up on Thanksgiving without a rush to the airport or coming off of jet lag from a long flight the previous night.

Micah Parsons is set to have many more Thanksgiving appearances, but on the other side, Matthew Stafford, who played on many Thanksgivings in his career, could be facing his last appearance. Stafford, 38 years old, was a routine Thanksgiving quarterback when he was with the Detroit Lions.

However, in Los Angeles, he has not had as many opportunities to get on the field on the fourth Thursday of November. With Ty Simpson now in the room, Stafford could be facing his last opportunity to play on or around the holiday. Even if he holds off Simpson for an extended period of time, there is no guarantee that the Rams will be scheduled on Thanksgiving in the next few years.

As such, Stafford will have plenty of reason to drop back for an extended period of time in the pocket, which will give Parsons an added chance to stack some sacks. If he can do so, he will have something extra to be thankful for the following day.

Will Parsons be one of the last players to share a field with Matthew Stafford on or within hours of Thanksgiving?
