Sam Darnold’s Seattle Seahawks beat the LA Rams 31-27 on Sunday to win the NFC championship. Darnold went 25 of 36 for 346 yards with three touchdowns to lead his team to the Super Bowl.

Despite Darnold’s solid performance against the Rams, former NFL running back LeSean McCoy suggested that LA’s defense didn’t pose a big challenge for the Seahawks QB.

Thanks for the submission!

“I think he (Darnold) played well, but if you’re asking a real question, where was the Rams defense at?” McCoy said on the “Speakeasy” show on Sunday. “Where was the Rams special teams at? … I know who is at QB for Seattle, Darnold, I know his past, I know his history and his resume. But you make him comfortable, he’s gonna play well, the guy is a first-rounder.”

When McCoy was asked if the panel owed Darnold an apology since the QB has taken Seattle to the Super Bowl, the two-time Super Bowl winner didn’t change his opinion.

“That’s cool, but what do you want me to say, ‘He’s a great quarterback?’ I can’t do that,” McCoy said. “When I watched the game, the Rams made it super easy for him.”

Darnold was sacked thrice by the Rams’ defense on Sunday.

Darnold signed with the Seahawks in the 2025 offseason. He led them to the NFC West title and also guided Seattle to the top seed in the division.
