Shedeur Sanders made his long-awaited NFL debut in the Cleveland Browns’ defeat to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. The Colorado Buffaloes product had a rough day at the office as he put up a stat line of 47 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception.
Stephen A. Smith spoke about Coach Prime’s son’s future on his YouTube channel. He said,
“I don’t know whether Shedeur Sanders is an NFL or not, and I don’t blame anybody for assuming or surmising that he may not be.”

“But how does he get zero snaps with the first team? How is a player able to say they were unfamiliar with his snap count? He wasn’t prepped at all. You’re a QB2, your QB1 is an undersized dude, a hit away from getting concussed and taken out of the game.”
He concluded,
“Kevin Stefanski is a two-time NFL Coach of the Year. He knows a thing or two about coaching football. How unprepared did Shedeur Sanders look?”
Sanders entered the game in the third quarter after teammate Dillon Gabriel suffered a head injury. He attempted numerous deep balls that either narrowly missed their targets or were dropped by his teammates.
It’s Sanders’ first game in the NFL, and he’ll potentially get more chances on the gridiron before the end of Year 1.
Shedeur Sanders is expected to start in Week 12
Shedeur Sanders is trending towards making the first start of his professional football career in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders. With Dillon Gabriel still in concussion protocol, Sanders is the next quarterback up.
According to Sports Illustrated, Cleveland Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot says that Sanders is set to make his first start in the NFL against the Las Vegas Raiders at 4:05 pm in Vegas on Sunday. Sanders will look to put up a significantly better showing under the bright lights in Las Vegas.
Furthermore, Sanders will get training reps with the first team ahead of his first start. It’s worth noting that Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Coach Prime’s son wasn’t given reps with the starters until his debut.
