WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was at the receiving end of some major accusations this week. Popular star Matt Cardona subtley pointed fingers at Cody and Kevin Owens for burying him.
A few months ago, Kevin Owens was on Cody’s podcast. During a conversation about the independent wrestling circuit, both stars agreed that Matt Cardona was one of the biggest names. However, KO took a dig at the star, claiming that although the “Indy God” was a huge name, he always kept talking about returning to WWE. Cody also laughed at the comment.

This week on the What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast with Cody Rhodes, Cardona recalled the incident. He claimed Cody and Kevin seemingly had a great time mocking him on the show. Matt even pointed out that The American Nightmare laughed at Owens’ comments rather than defending him. The two stars laughed about the humorous exchange and Cardona detailed that he was just teasing Cody.
“I’m excited to be back. It’s been a while. There were so many times where I didn’t think it was gonna happen. Then you and KO buried me for wanting to come back. Remember that? I’m just busting your b*lls. You certainly didn’t defend me, at all.”

On the March 13 edition of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton came down to the ring for a contract signing segment for their WrestleMania matchup. However, the segment ended in chaos when The Viper turned heel and viciously attacked Cody. Randy destroyed his former brother and left him in a pool of blood.
The following week, Orton victimized Matt Cardona and put a brutal beatdown on him as well. It will be interesting to see who is next on the Apex Predator’s list heading up to the Show of Shows.
