It was not that long ago when any phone with a battery capacity over 5,000mAh was guaranteed to be a clunky rugged phone, but the last few years have seen a revolution thanks to silicon-carbon (Si/C) anode technology. This allowed smartphone makers to fit higher energy density batteries inside smartphones, and we are now at the point of passing the 10,000mAh battery threshold inside a phone that’s under 8mm thick.

Honor Power2 is now official in China, and it features a 10,080mAh Si/C battery, which Honor claims can last for over 20 hours of continuous usage. The maker suggests you can expect over 26 hours of video playback, 17 hours of continuous navigation or 14 hours of non-stop gaming.
Honor Power2 can reverse charge other devices at up to 27W speeds
The large battery is paired with 80W wired charging, and you can even use the Power2 as a power bank to charge other phones and devices at up to 27W speeds. That’s all contained inside a reasonably slim 7.98mm chassis, and the phone weighs just 216 grams.

Apart from the huge battery, Power2 features the usual set of specs you’d expect from a modern Android smartphone. This includes full IP68 + IP69 + IP69K ingress protection and a decently sized 6.79-inch AMOLED with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is rated at up to 1,800 nits peak local brightness and features a 16MP selfie cam and fingerprint scanner.

Honor Power2 is the first phone to launch with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512GB UFS 4.1 storage.
MediaTek’s latest SoC features an eight-core CPU with an all-big core design using ARM Cortex-A725 units. The prime core is clocked at 3.4GHz and is joined by 3x cores @3.2GHz and 4x cores @2.2GHz speeds. On the GPU side, the new chip features a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, and based on benchmarks, it scored over 2.4 million points on AnTuTu.

Power2 also includes a 50MP main cam with f/1.9 aperture and OIS as well as a 5MP ultrawide lens. The software side is covered by MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.
Honor Power2 comes in Midnight Black, an iPhone 17 Pro-inspired Sunrise Orange, and Snowfield White colors.
The base 12/256GB trim comes in at CNY 2,699 ($385) while the 12/512GB version is priced at CNY 2,999 ($428). Open sales in China are scheduled for Friday, January 9. Honor has not detailed whether the Power2 will make its way to markets outside of China.
