A massive announcement regarding Andrade El Idolo was made after he got into a brawl outside AEW. El Idolo has not been in All Elite Wrestling since his last appearance in October.
Andrade El Idolo made his AEW return in October after his WWE exit, but it was later revealed that he has a one-year non-compete clause. Thankfully, the clause got waived off with the help of his lawyer recently, and he became a free agent. El Idolo made his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling after a decade at the WrestleKingdom 20 event.
Andrade teamed with United Empire to defeat the Bullet Club War Dogs in a 10-man tag match at the event. El Idolo competed at the NJPW New Year Dash show, where he got the win for his team in a six-man tag match. After the match, Andrade got into a huge altercation with Gabe Kidd, who was one of his opponents in the match.
Following the altercation, Kidd challenged El Idolo, and the match has been made official. At the Road to the New Beginning event in Osaka on February 11, Gabe Kidd will take on Andrade, and the winner will get a shot at the IWGP Global Heavyweight title, which is currently held by Yota Tsuji.

Andrade El Idolo has not been seen on AEW TV since his appearance on Dynamite in October, where he attacked Kenny Omega and joined the Don Callis Family. It had to do with his lengthy non-compete clause, which has now been waived off. As El Idolo became a free agent recently, fans are hoping to see him back in All Elite Wrestling.
During his match at the recent NJPW WrestleKingdom 20, Andrade El Idolo was referred to as a part of All Elite Wrestling by the commentary team. Therefore, Andrade could be back in Tony Khan’s promotion soon.
Only time will tell when fans will see Andrade back in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
