Meghan Markle gushes over ‘how far’ she’s come since working as ‘briefcase girl’ on ‘Deal or No Deal’

Meghan Markle has opened up about her short-lived stint on “Deal or No Deal” in the second season of her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan.”

Before her breakout role in “Suits,” the Duchess of Sussex starred on the NBC reality show from 2006 to 2007 alongside Chrissy Teigen as a “briefcase model.”

The role entailed the actress, who was pursing a career in show business at the time, to display the luggage containing various amounts of cash for which contestants were vying.

“I was thinking about how many moons ago we crossed paths and that was past life, that was good old Deal or No Deal,” Markle told Teigen in the second episode of the eight-part series.

“I remember us all having to stand in line to get our lashes put in.”

As the duo exchanged memories from their time of the show, Markle was simultaneously teaching the former model how to make pressed flower jewelry in her “craft barn.”

Teigen then recalled how all the models had to deposit their false lashes “in a Ziploc bag” once the shoot wrapped.

“I was just so happy to have health insurance,” the duchess, 44, said. “I was like, ‘I get health insurance with this job.’”

“How far we’ve come,” she added.

Teigen, for her part, recalled being a “backup girl” on the show.

“I mean, I left the show, and then like a year or so later, you got famous,” Markle added. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, [Teigen] is on the cover of ‘Sports Illustrated,’ she was just sitting back there on the little chair, waiting…’”

“Not competitive at all, literally was fascinated by all of you and just so happy to be in the world of Hollywood,” added Teigen, who has been married to singer John Legend since 2013.

It’s not the first time Markle has opened up about her time on “Deal or No Deal.”

Speaking on her now-defunct podcast “Archetypes” in 2021, Markle sounded off on her unsatisfying experience, saying the show “objectifies” women.

While she claimed she was “grateful” for the gig, she felt “not smart” while being on the series.

“There was a very cookie-cutter idea of precisely what we should look like,” she said, adding that she and her fellow quiz show models would line up before tapings to put on false eyelashes, as well as getting hair extensions, spray tans and bra padding.

“It was solely about beauty, and not necessarily about brains,” the “Suits” alum went on.

“I was surrounded by smart women on that stage with me, but that wasn’t the focus of why we were there and I would end up leaving with this pit in my stomach. Like I said, I was thankful for the job but not for how it made me feel, which was not smart.”

However, Donna Feldman, another model who appeared on “Deal or No Deal,” slammed Markle’s version of events in 2022.

Feldman told The Post that none of the models were treated like hussies, contrary to Markle’s beliefs.
