Mr. Beast Announces Air Dates of Controversial Competition Show

by Ohio Digital News

YouTube sensation Mr. Beast has announced his competition show, “Beast Games,” will debut Dec. 19, 2024 on Prime Video.

“Beast Games” involves 1,000 entrants vying for $5 million in cash, and the first round of eliminations (narrowing down 2,000 contestants to 1,000) was taped in Las Vegas.

Our coverage of the circumstances around the taping of “Beast Games” sparked an international firestorm, with allegations of mistreatment of contestants, hospitalizations and, possibly the worst part, many participants had to stay at Resorts World. We kid because we love!

The bigger the pile of cash, the bigger the kerfuffle.

Our exclusive scoop about the “Beast Games” taping was one of the biggest stories of 2024 completely missed by local media. Shocker. They’re just getting around to trying to figure out the whole “MySpace phenomenon.”

Our blog’s  comment section became a way for contestants and their families to express concerns (translation: anger) about the “Beast Games” production, and boy did they ever voice them.

Contestants alleged they were deprived of food, medicine, clean underwear and other personal care items (including tampons, mostly for the women). Others questioned the fairness of the competition, and say due to the physicality, the competition was skewed against women and older folks.

We’ve been told the elimination competitions in Las Vegas won’t actually be in the show, but we’re holding out hope Las Vegas will be featured. We’re told the Las Vegas portion of the show will be made available on the Mr. Beast YouTube channel to help promote the series on Prime Video.

The airing of the show is sure to ignite further conversation from contestants and fans about the circumstances around the taping of the show.

Episodes one and two of “Beast Games” air Dec. 19, 2024, with consecutive episodes following weekly on Prime Video.

In the meantime, check out our original story about “Beast Games” in Las Vegas. (Note to the Las Vegas Review-Journal: That’s a “hyperlink.” Use your mouse, usually next to the “keyboard,” to “click” on the “link.” All the kids are doing it!)
